Study Promotes Breathing Practices for Stress & Anxiety; SoCal entrepreneur shares best practices

Poppy Life Care, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families facing health challenges, is promoting the use of breathing practices to relieve stress and anxiety.

A new study published in Cell Reports Medicine shows that specific breathing techniques can help reduce stress and improve mental well-being.

Erica Solis, CEO and Founder of Poppy Life Care, said, “Breathing practices are a simple and effective way to manage stress and anxiety. We know that these conditions can have a significant impact on mental and physical health, and we want to empower individuals with tools to cope with these challenges.”

The study found that participants who practiced a specific breathing technique known as Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY) experienced a reduction in symptoms of stress and anxiety, as well as improvements in mood and quality of life. SKY involves a series of alternating slow, medium, and fast breathing exercises, accompanied by chanting.

Solis added, “At Poppy Life Care, we believe that everyone deserves access to tools and resources that promote well-being. Breathing practices are a no-cost, accessible way to manage stress and anxiety, and can be practiced anywhere, anytime.”

Poppy Life Care offers a range of programs and services that focus on stress management, mindfulness, and other techniques to promote overall well-being. These include breathing workshops, meditation classes, and support groups for individuals and families affected by stress and anxiety.

“We want to encourage individuals to take control of their mental health,” said Solis. “By incorporating breathing practices into their daily routine, individuals can improve their well-being and lead more fulfilling lives.”
