Alexandra comes to Poppy Life Care with a strong background in education, as well as mental and behavioral health for over 10 years. She has worked as an Instructional Aide/Behavioral Therapist for children on the Autism Spectrum, and as an elementary teacher- in these roles she has seen firsthand the need to address mental, emotional and physical wellbeing for people of all ages. As a trained mindfulness facilitator, Alexandra began creating lessons and guided practices to support emotion regulation, stress management, and the development of healthy coping strategies as part of a nonprofit she co-founded in 2016. In 2021, Alexandra began training teachers and students full-time in mindfulness, mental health coping strategies, and overall wellbeing practices through professional development and student workshops. The programs and curriculum she developed are now implemented at various school districts throughout the Southern California area. She has a BA from Loyola Marymount University and an MA California State University Long Beach. In addition to her role at Poppy Life Care, Alexandra is passionate about supporting immigrant communities in the Southern California area, and she teaches part-times as an ESL professor at Saddleback College.
